Mr. Lund's Blog – The Learning Never Ends In Fifth Grade!
Three months is all it took for our classroom blog to reach four continents! We’ve reached the World Wide Web! Our discussions, activities, thoughts, emotions, challenges, trips, struggles, posts, and comments are no longer JUST a parent communication tool to connect our school with the homes in our small town - Chatham. We are sharing our classroom with people in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia! This includes the following countries: United States, Canada, Australia, England, and South Korea. Can you find these countries on a map? What are your thoughts? Feelings? Reactions?

Wow! It is very cool that people around the world have been on your blog and are intersted in what is going on in Chatham, Illinois! I wonder if there are classroom blogs in other countries that you could check out. Maybe you could find out what fifth graders in Australia are learning about!

Michael,
Thank you for the comment. At this time, our visitors from other countries have not posted any comments. Won’t it be exciting when they do?
Mr. Lund’s Fifth Grade blog is not trying to be better than other blogs. I’m excited to see all the new comments on the gisreading.edublogs.org site. Mrs. Ebener’s class also has a blog. In December, our classes might challenge each other to see which site can get the most communication and feedback.

Wow! Well done to Mr Lund and 5LN. Here’s your first comment from New Zealand. We are a bit younger than you, a class of Year 4 children (aged 8-9) in Hamilton, New Zealand. You can see our blog here http://glenview9.wordpress.com and our wiki here http://glenviewnine.pbwiki.com
Our school year starts in February and finishes in December. It is nearly summer here – we have heard a cicada.

Wow! Thats so cool that we’ve gone international. It’s really cool we have people from all over the world. How many posts do we have so far?
—Mason,
I agree that it’s interesting to see other people reading and commenting about the activities in our classroom. What do you think we should post about that would interest other people? Current events? US history from the viewpoint of a fifth grader? Any ideas?

Hi Mr Lund!
Thank you for visiting us! My kids are studying for their tests now, they won’t come back so soon. Meanwhile, I can assure you we do recycle: at school, at home, and we also use the “three R”; just check it out at my student’s blog:http://madalena12cad6b.edublogs.org/
I’m glad you’ve gone international, and, as Sue waters says, here is a red dot with greetings from Portugal.

I can’t believe how much are class room blog has spreed around the world in so little amount of time. I am very excited to see where else in the world that our blog will spreed to. I think that it would be really cool to see how different blogs around the world look and soon talk to other class room blogs to see what they do in school to compare with what we do in school. I am hoping for other comments from around the world this year.

Hi all,
Congrats on going international. I have been working on starting a blog with my 5th grade students and was wondering if you have any tips for getting our blog out there so that others will read it.
