Mr. Lund’s Blog – The Learning Never Ends In Fifth Grade!
Mrs. Cox thought with Veteran’s Day quickly approaching, that this was a great clip to share with you! Please read, watch and respond! -Mr. Lund
SO SIMPLE, SO MEANING FULL
This is pretty neat….. Have you ever seen one of our military walking past you and wanted to convey to them your thanks, but weren’t sure how, or it felt awkward?
Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could be used to express your thanks and has started a movement to get the word out..
Please everybody take just a moment to watch…… The Gratitude Salute…and then forward it to your friends!
THEN START USING THE SIGN.

That really touched me. Next time I see one of our countries protectors I’ll make sure to give them my sign of thanks!

That sign means thank you. I think that the video is sad too. I think that coming home to visit would be a sad and happy moment. I love all of the people who fight for us, even if I am not a family member!

I really enjoyed the video and it made me think of my brother Marshall who is in the Marines. I miss him a lot and to see this video made me very proud of him and the soldiers who serve for us and protect us. I will show my brother the sign of thank you when he comes over for the holidays. Thanks for sharing this video Mr.Lund, this was the best video I’ve seen in my life!!!

P.S. I’ve always wanted to say thank you to a soldier also but never really knew how to that well and so now when I see a soldier I will say thank you that way!

I really liked this clip. I just learned that if I see a veteran I will show them the sign of thanks. Just today I saw in the newspaper that in Fort Hood there was a group of soldiers in their camp having a conversation and another marine came in from the back and opened fire. So, we lost 12 veterans and there are at least 31 wounded soldiers. How sad….

If I see a veteran I will give them a sign of thanks because thay are serving for our country risking their lives for us. If I were one of them I would like to have people say thanks for serving so I will say it to them. Also this video was great.

Lexi,
I would feel the same way in both situations. If I were a soldier I would want a thank you as well. I also would be glad to give a soldier a thank you sign any day.

Well of course I really did appreciate this video. My father is retired from the Navy and my son currently a U.S. Marine. That is a great way to show our appreciation for what they have done and still do today for us and our country. My son is very shy and would appreciate a gester like that than an actual verbal thanks.

I think that the video by the music is sad. I would tell them thank you, they are the reasons why we are not out there fighting and regretting our life’s. I think that they are great people and so we need to honer them.

That must have been very nice! I also cried a lot when I saw my brother at bootcamp graduating and not seeing him forever. I had tears of joy! I’m glad you got to see your family coming back from the serves. I hope you had a great time seeing them!
